Do you recognize the dude on the cover? No, he certainly is not Claire's hero. Okay, so maybe he's a little bit of help but only because he's in the right place despite his bad intentions.

With a troll in the basement and a warrior in the bedroom, you wouldn't think pacifist-vegetarian Claire would be the one wielding the sword, but that's how it is when houses talk to you, ghosts float through you, and a really bad guy decides to stalk you. And then there are mundane problems, like a food poisoning epidemic in Seattle restaurants and somebody passing counterfeit bills to Girl Scouts, and oh hey, there's the bank manager who wants to fire Claire.

Book 5 is under construction -

At the Eppie Awards Banquet at the national 2009 EPIC convention in Las Vegas, March, 2009, the presenter was handed this envelope to read off the list of finalists.

And then the presenter opened the sealed envelope, pulled out the card, and there was Mudflat, Book 1!

Besides a beautiful trophy, they sent me the card and envelope! What nice people! Thanks to all of you who have sent me your good wishes.
